Kathryn Janeway started her life in Starfleet as a science officer, serving under Captain Paris (Tom's Father) on the Al-Batani.
She is one of the most respected captains in Starfleet.
Janeway's parents were both scientists, her father, Edward, was an astrophysicist, her mother, Gretchen a
mathemetician. She has a sister called Phoebe. Janeway and her family went on frequent backpacking trips, where she was taught how to survive. she was also taught how to garden.
She was first seen in "Caretaker"
