Not many people would kill their own twin brother just for a small advantage in the family game of power. Caine was one of the minority, when he killed his brother Aybel. He also had a stab at brother Corwin, and knocked Brand into the Abyss beyond Chaos with a well placed arrow. Two and one attempted isn't bad going.
Caine fathered one of the player-characters, Jesssica, and died a few years after she came of age. It's not like they were close, but poor Jessica had to take a year off and go gallivanting around shadow to make herself feel better. Skiving is what the others called it. They were probably right.
Caine was the master manipulator, and the one who knew everything. He was killed by Crowley a few years after the Patternfall war. He had already been presumed dead twice before, and still pitched up in time to save the world once or twice.
This time, the family were very careful, as nobody likes the idea of someone that sneaky being around without them knowing about it.
He received no curse from Crowley when they were given out wholesale - he was dead.
