Amber is the great city, the one true place of which all are shadows and broken reflections. The siblings Barriman squabble over it, and in the process, show their flaws and the high points of their characters. Come in and meet the cast. They are mostly to be found in the books by Roger Zelazny, on which the Amber Diceless RPG is based. Others here were created for the game, either as characters, or as background.
Of all Amberites, everywhere, Dworkin was the first of the blood of Amber. He called the worlds into their current shape when he made the Pattern. According to Unicorn Creed, in the beginning was the word, and Dworkin is the one who spoke it. He is the father of Oberon, and of sheer mystery.
Dworkin's son Oberon did not lack in his father's power, and for years uncountable, he ruled Amber. He married many times, and had many mistresses, fathering a surprisingly small number of children. He died in remaking the Pattern, and although coming back from the dead is all the rage right now, he has not been spotted since. We shall not, with luck, see his like again.
The wives and descendents of Oberon
Shortly after Fiona's birth, Merina, a mistress, bore Princess Llewella. She was officially adopted by Oberon, but she is a Princess of Amber's Reflection, Rebma, the city of secrets.
Clarissa, by now old and out of favour, was divorced and dispatched to a far-off shadow.
Crowley was really nasty to look at. And a real bastard, in all senses of the word. He lived basically to be evil to Amberites and provide GM plot-hooks, on the grounds that his nephew Benedict protected his family. Benedict, when very young, went through a lot to stop Crowley's plans, for which Crowley hated him. He also blamed his disfigurement on Benedict. As such, and for driving my plots for nearly two years, he deserves his own paragraph.
There was the Royal Assassin. With a twisted mind like his, he should have been a Prince. Now deceased, due to an unfortunate misunderstanding.
Another mystery in Amber is the young(ish) blond man Flora has hanging from her. His name is Llewellyn.
