Anvhar is a heavy gravity planet, home of Bryon Bastion Barrit - or, as some would have it, Brion Barriman. It is also the home planet of the Twenties, a double decathlon encompassing such varied pursuits as Epee, freeform poetry, and chess. The Twenties take place once each year, worldwide, and are the basis of an honour system which has prevented war on what is essentially a frontier world. In a planetary orbit not far from Anvhar is the blasted world of Dis, where Brion picked up the most atrocious accent ever to blight the Thari Language.
