These pages are of reality. So often we do not think of the consequence of actions or descisions. Although I am still a very young and inexperienced Emergency Medical Attendant (EMA), or as some may better relate a Paramedic/Ambulance Attendant, I have already seen the results of actions, illness and the human body and mind. Life is a precious gift that all too often we take for granted.There is a lot more to EMS work than what I had really expected. It is a very taxing type of job, not only does it constantly challenge your skills and knowledge, but it tests your physical, emotional, and mentality as well. It is not a job for every person. It takes a special kind of person to want to risk their lives to help save others. Granted not every call is danger filled by the threat of exploding vehicles, collapsing mines, or fires as television likes to make them out to be, but each and every call holds the potential to get worse...it is to these men and women that I honour.
