Millennium: 'TEOTWAWKI'

When a boy decides to shoot a bunch of people in the school gym, Frank and Agent Hollis discover a group of men who seem to be trying to bring about chaos in the belief that the end of the world is nigh.

Millennium takes on the Millennium bug for the first time in this episode. In case you're wondering, the title is an abbreviation of The End Of The World As We Know It. This is a very strange episode of Millennium, and by the end of it, you're not really any more sure what was going on than at the beginning.

There's a group of fathers, and if their kids find out that they're trying to bring about the breakdown of society, they kill them. Exactly why this is necessary is never explained, nor is it made adequately clear how this group is going to bring about anarchy, aprt from making computers break down and office systems follow suit. It's not a very clever or effective plan, and the fact that the original suspect is the actual killer makes the episode seem a huge waste of time.

The only good part of the episode is the teaser, which is shot in a particularly disturbing way as the kid randomly shoots a bunch of his school friends.

Otherwise, I'm still not clear why this episode was made at all, which is particularly concerning when you realize that Chris Carter co-wrote it. Maybe he should leave Millennium well alone...
