Highlander: The Raven: 'Crime and Punishment'

Nick is forced to face a bad past decision when a man he put in jail for a crime he didn't commit gets out and starts gunning for the former detective.

It had to happen. In order to give more depth to cop shows, it seems to be essential that they must all have a past in which in their younger days they put an innocent behind bars. Nick Wolfe is no exception, having put away a baseball player on what seems to be pretty flimsy evidence. Obviously the man had no lawyer, or he would have avoided a few years in jail. Okay, so these points have to be ignored to set up the story.

But what next? Well, there's not much else to this episode. Nick runs about dodging bullets, and eventually (with a little help from Amanda), the real culprit is revealed. And that's it. What was needed here was some kind of b-plot, and nothing presents itself. No Immortal for Amanda to play with, no nothing. And letting Nick carry the story on his own just makes the whole thing like any other cop show, and very dull. Only some Amanda/Lucy banter raises the level a little.

Nice to see a flashback featuring Nick for a change though.
