title>My 2 Cents Worth – Star Trek: Voyager
Seven of Nine starts to experience personalities of people the Borg assimilated taking over her mind, and the crew must find a way to save her personality before it is completely lost.
This is actually quite an interesting idea, but it doesn't quite stretch as far as a full 45 minutes without a B-plot, which this episode is really just about the crew trying to shut down some Borg technology that is causing Seven problems.
What makes this episode more than worthwhile, however, is Jeri Ryan. The phrase tour de force is inadequate for her performance throughout the story as she manages to convey several distinct personalities through voice inflection, stance and body language with mesmerising effectiveness. The actress's abilities are put to the test here, and she comes up trumps. On top of this, Naomi Wildman is back, and her scenes with Seven are an undoubted highlight.
Things do go slightly awry towards the end of the story when after the Doctor pronounces that Seven's personality has been lost, Tuvok still just has to pop into the ex-Borg's mind, punch out a few hangers-on and pull the real Seven back. A little too easy considering what she's been going through.
