First Wave: 'The Decision'

The Gua assembly meet to decide whether to begin the next stage of their attack, but when Joshua reminds them of everything Cade Foster has done, the Gua start to be divided.

Yes, it's a clip show. And what can you say about a clip show? It's got to the point now that series such as Xena and Stargate SG-1 can do clip shows with a really good framing device, and forget you're watching a money-saver. That's not really the case here.

The actual decision in question could probably have been made in about five minutes. Instead, we get a selection of ways in which Cade has kicked alien ass. It's a nice reminder of what has gone before for those who've tuned in rather late in the day, but for the rest of us it's a bit of a tired old retread.

In its favour, the clips are actually important moments that may have a bearing on events later on. Although they are solely from Chris Brancato's episodes, he's the creator, so presumably he knows the overall plan he was going for. It also gives Cade's history, his place in the world, and some alien facts such as their salt craving. Still, it's still just a bunch of clips, so unless you want reminding of something (the decision isn't made until next season anyway), you won't miss anything by not watching it.
