When a woman does a spot of saucy dancing in a bar, then ages to death, Cade Foster arrives to look into it, and discovers a strange youth potion that clearly doesn’t last long.
This episode is a bit of an odd beast. There’s still a reasonable amount of sex to keep the less demanding punters happy, and the idea of a youth potion, although something of an old idea, is fairly well used. The problem is that not much happens here, with most of the episode’s running time given over to Cade attempting to burgle to alien supplier of the elixir (which, despite his criminal background, he fails to accomplish twice), or old people getting young just so they can have a quick bit of nookie before they die The final scene with a now-youthful former oldie grinning lustfully at his former nurse is truly dreadful, with this sort of forwardness usually being repaid with a hefty slap.
Apparently, the aliens need us young and strong to act as slaves, but a youth elixir that makes people die seems a strange way of going about it. If so many people are being killed, why are the aliens so keen to flog it all the time? Why not use one test subject, then create a new formula if necessary?
Oh, and this week, Cade uses public telephones, and travels on buses so that the police or whoeever can’t track him. Since when? He had a car last week and a mobile phone! Some consistency needs to be reached here, especially with the fact that the aliens should recognize him by now.
