First Wave: 'Lungfish'

Visiting a place in the middle of nowhere, Cade meets a boy who has been ctaching fish that can survive on land.

This is ridiculous, and by the end, it still makes no real sense. The main problem is that it is impossible to take seriously a show in which a fish crawls out of the water using its fins, then sits and breathes on the sand. It looks like a fish, granted, but the whole thing is so unlikely that you can’t help but laugh at it.

From here on it gets worse. Cade travels about with the fish, meets a half-woman half-fish who has gills and is trying to look after a kid whilst regularly returning to her bath to survive. On top of this, we get another appearance from the not so much mysterious as incredibly dull Colonel Grace, played by Dana Brooks, a woman with no obvious acting ability whatsoever. It’s getting old fast that she keeps turning up with no explanation as to who sent her and why. Her security team leave a lot to be desired too, as Cade manages to escape from about 18 of them just by jumping into some water.

A couple of episodes ago, the aliens wanted humans tough and strong to help them. Now they want to turn them into fish people that can’t leave the water. Are there groups of aliens, each of which has a different idea about how to go about this invasion? Maybe they should sort out what their plan actually is.
