Past

Past -- written by Kirsten Lindsay

Once you meant the world to me
You were all I ever loved.
Then the times had changed all things
I wasn't the one you dreamed of.

We had walked and talked together
Of what the future held.
Little did we know
What the times ahead would tell.

Our love had shown no boundries,
Our faith had shown no holes.
We loved and trusted fully,
And thought we'd never grow old.

Then something around us changed.
The air felt dark and dim.
I wondered if I knew you.
I wondered if you were him.

You were just like all the others
You loved and then you left.
You took all I could give
And left me with the debt.

Still I can't help but wonder
What on earth you1re doing now.
Are you loving, or are you leaving?
Does she know who you are now?

The hole you left in my heart,
Has never truly healed.
Will I ever love again?
The idea has lost appeal.

Still I shall fall in love,
And I may lose again
But who knows what time will tell.
Maybe this time I shall win.
