Cleo (short for Cleopatra) was born in Chadron, Nebraska, in 1992. Her mother was a black & white "housecat", and her father was a Siamese. Cleo is one of the best family cats I've had the pleasure to live with. She is definitely a "member of the family". Cleo is especially attached to my sons. If they go outside to play, she insists on going with them. If they walk down the street, she will follow them. Cleo also likes most dogs, as you can see from the above photo. (We do not have Sampson anymore. Now we have a lab-collie cross, named Mandy, that Cleo likes to play with. She will often provoke Mandy to chase her...or sometimes they are content to just lay near each other.) Cleo is very social. She had her litter of kittens in 1993. She insisted on having them in a corner of the living-room -- the busiest room in our house! When she went into labor, she wanted someone with her at all times. If we left the room, she would start to call, get up and try to lead us back to her chosen corner. Apparently she wanted the births to be a "family event". A picture of her kittens is below.
