"To The Lord I Pray"

There came a time in my life, when things weren't right,
and all my dreams, were out of sight;
To the lord I prayed, I wish I might,
have what it takes, to survive the night.

My life came crumbling, and tumbling down,
I tried to smile, to lose that frown;
To the lord I prayed, I need a hand,
to have the courage, to take a stand.

My heart was filled, with love to share,
but no one was left, no one to care;
To the lord I prayed, Don't let me run,
to keep me trying, to find someone.

I didn't realize, that I was hypnotized,
watching the world, through my blank eyes;
To the lord I prayed, Be there for me,
don't send me to hell, set my soul free.

I screwed up my chances, and made some mistakes,
I was left to wonder, If I had what it takes;
To the lord I prayed, Cut me some slack,
my faith did slip, but take me back.

To the lord I prayed, help me fight,
to the lord I prayed, make things right,
Bless my soul, forgive my sins, and cleanse my heart;
To the lord I prayed, to the lord I pray...
