Whose Tail Is It?
Turning onto the corner of tenth and vine.
Sam spied a doll, she looked about nine.
She was crying and sniffling and didn't seem to care.
That Sam had come over and was now sitting there.
Sam smiled and asked her, "What is your name?"
"What is your name?" She asked. Sorta the same.
"The name's Sam Diamond. I'm a PI."
"My name's Jenny. And I wanna cry."
True to her word she had started again.
Sam gulped real hard and lifted her chin.
He asked, "Now what seems to be the trouble?"
Jenny, through tears, began seeing double.
Now Sam knew he should try and help her out.
But all he could do was watch her face pout.
Jenny sobbed and started to wail.
All of a sudden she held out a tail.
"My kitty's tail came off!"
Sam choked and started to cough.
Sam sputtered and felt queasy.
He knew this wouldn't be easy.
So he stood up and sent Jenny inside.
Tailless kitties he just couldn't abide.
He reached down and gently picked up the tail.
He looked around and could find no trail.
Sam searched every nook every cranny.
But he couldn't find that tailless fanny.
He sighed and he thought of where that kitty could be.
Sam looked down in the gutter, and what did he see.
A stuffed little tiger with a cold bare end.
Sam cuddled the tiger and started to mend.
That tiger looked so happy and not really hurt.
Sam hugged the little tiger and wiped off the dirt.
He took the tiger to the girl he befriended.
He showed Jenny that her tiger was mended.
She stopped her crying and gave a big smile.
Sam grinned, for this was just his style.
To help those in need, no matter how small.
Sam will help those whomever will call.
He's only a PI and not very good.
But he's the best in his neighborhood.
Well that wraps up the case of "Whose Tail Is It?"
Classically known now as, "The Tailless Tiger".
I am always ready to help. Whenever I can. Just ask!
"This poem is dedicated to all children everywhere.
May they find true happiness."
