Destiny (How's That for a Predetermined Title?)

Was it meant to be? Was it predetermined that I would be writing this? Was it already written in your life story that you would be reading SNAGGLE™ and trying to figure out who I am? That is all up to the Supreme Court today. Today is the day that the case of Williams vs. Destiny goes before the court. Williams is suing for a repeated violation of the bill of rights, specifically, the right to liberty. Yes, you read that right- Destiny is unconstitutional. This case has already been tried in many courts, but after numerous appeals, it has been brought to the very top. Which way will the court decide? Who can know? The earlier verdicts have been split fifty/fifty, half convicting Destiny on numerous counts of love at first sight, murder, conspiracy against the national security, and freak "accidents"; and half releasing Destiny as innocent. However, at every step of the way, a mistrial has been called and the verdicts have been repealed on account of new evidence. Nevertheless, the most shocking evidence of all is coming out today. Thanks to my excellent reporter skills, I have uncovered it all for you, my readers, before anyone else. The defense plans to declare today that Destiny cannot be guilty because Destiny does not exist. This could have devastating consequences on the rest of the country. Doctors would lose their jobs, because no one wills themselves to get sick. Politicians will suddenly be convicted of mass murder, of killing millions of people in wars that were not inevitable. Fortune tellers would be outlawed entirely. Students could no longer blame their poor academic skills on fate. All the worriers of the world will be able to legitimately wonder ‘what if *** had happened?' Which is more important, liberty or all the things we would lose if Destiny was outlawed? You have a stake in this, too. Today is the day it will all be decided. We must(?) wait and watch until we know more. Until then, a dieu.
