A comprehensive guide to understanding wetlanders

It is well known in the Three-Fold Land that wetlanders are crazy. Unfortunately, most of the time that is true, but I have noted several distinct behaviors depending on what land they are from. First of all are the servants. It seems that it is a custom for wetlanders to serve for their whole lives! They wear clothes to identify themselves, and instead of serving a captor, they _choose_ to serve and are _paid_ for their work. Servants are one of the craziest groups of wetlanders.

In alphabetical order, here are descriptions of men from all of the countries I have encountered so far:

ALTARA

I have not met any Altarans in my travels, but I have talked to a few Aiel who have been there. These people have a reputation for causing trouble, but they are probably more Aielish in their ways than any other people. They all carry weapons, fighting whenever they feel their honor has been insulted. They have almost no central government; they rarely even think about the man who is their king, or queen if it be so. Among them, the women have more power. Altara is the homeland of healers called Wise Women, whose healing abilities are as famous as the Aes Sedai's.

AMADICIA

This is the home of the Children of the Light, an organization of soldiers dedicated to finding and killing shadowrunners, but they have a bad reputation even in the wetlands. Instead of doing what they claim, to protect against traitors, they beleive that anyone who offends them does it as an insult to the Light. They burn farms and homes of those they claim are darkfriends, and take the cowards way when faced with the truth. They accept no other authority, and serve no chief except their Lord Captain Commander. They beleive those who can touch the One Power to be darkfriends. All together, these men called Whitecloaks by those who hate them are lying, honorless dogs and are best avoided or killed.

ANDOR

Other than the numerous Andorans who choose to be servants, this country is the home of some of the sanest wetlanders I have met. They do not have kings, but queens, and a new queen is chosen by right of blood. They are a bit eccentric at times, and have servants like most other wetlanders. I have heard the the Car'a'carn himself was raised in Andor, but in the far western part of it, called the Two Rivers. Andor is probably the largest country in all of the wetlands, though far smaller than the Three-Fold Land. In the west, right on the edge of the Mountains of Mist, there are mining towns which produce most of the silver and gold for Andor, Cairhien, Tear, Illian, and more.

ARAD DOMAN

Little is known of these men who live on the western side of the Mountains of Mist.
