- Subject: New c.d. under way!
|
Hello again, friends! Just a quick reminder to pray for us this Saturday, the 12th of December, for that is the day that Set on Edge begins our 3rd c.d. We'll be cutting the drums (Andy Womack and I) for 6 of the songs that day at the famous Full Moon Studio's with myself producing and Tom Lewis (who's worked w/ Vigilantes of Love, Sugar [bob mould's band], Luxury, and R.E.M.) engineering. I'm very excited. We're going to schedule one full day of studio time ever month or every two months, depending on what the money situation looks like. Steve Rieske will be doing most of his recording in Ohio, and mailing me the tapes to work with later. It also seems as though Randy will be a much greater contributor to this record than it was originally believed; we've decided to add an instrumental post-album song-fest. The song list for this next c.d. currently stands like this; Passing into Life, A Story to Cling To, I Believe, A Wedding Song for a Bride (this was performed at Steve's wedding), On this Day (this will be an instrumental version of a song that I wrote and performed at Steve's Wedding), The Weaker David, She Disarms Me (this is an older one; I'm sure anyone that's been to a SoE show in Ohio has heard it before), Song Sewn with Tears/classical postscript, I've Gone Somewhere to be Alone, Standing Idly By, Awake, Overflow (co-written by Laura Lebieko, + 6 instrumental guitar tracks after the main c.d. is over! Anyway...we are excited, but also a bit nervous. Please pray for the recording session this Saturday, and I'll keep you posted as to the results. On another note, though I can't say who it is right now, an up-and-coming label has shown significant interest in Set on Edge, and will not only be recording our live show in March and in May, but also might be re-releasing Autumn Song and Sod Pottage on one disc, and may involve themselves in the release of Earnestly, I... Nothing's been signed yet, but they seem legit. Lastly; there are some GREAT new labels out there that I advise looking into, especially one that is working w/ a few of my friend's bands, Paste music. They have a new release out that should be of interest to ALL of you; Vigilantes of Love: Live at the 40 Watt. They also carry Monk, and others like them. Also, Set on Edge's music, besides being available at Schoolkid's Records in Athens, Ohio, and the Christian Armory Bookstores in Columbus area (especially the Dublin store), are now available online through Broken Records, a GREAT online independant Christian music distributor. They have a GREAT selection of other bands as well, and I myself am looking forward to ordering material through them. Check out these sites at; http://www.pastemusic.com/ http://www.gospelcom.net/brokenrecords/profsetonedge.htm And, Jason Alexander has been doing a GREAT job updating the official Set on Edge website, and it can be viewed at; http://www.oocities.org/Athens/Acropolis/3038 I pray God's abundant blessings upon you all! amen and Amen! |
