4/20/99 - Set on Edge (Geogia) show on April 19th

Thanks to ALL who came out to catch Set on Edge (Georgia Line-up) at the Fabulous 40 Watt Club yesterday. We had over 100 people show, and sold over 13 c.d.'s, and some t-shirts as well (there were special concert t's printed advertising the show, with both the "Bands for Beans" logo's, and all of the bands involved for set one and two, including us, and Olivia Tremor Control, and a few others). I really feel the show was a success. We, somewhat loosely (what do you expect with only two rehearsals EVER?), played a 40 minutes set of mostly new versions of old Set on Edge material, and a couple of tunes from the upcoming "Falling on Deaf Ears" as well, and even a Gershwin cover from Porgy and Bess. I feel that the jazzier numbers worked best, like the new version of "Stoning Stephen" (which I'd LOVE to re-record) and "Summertime". Salt and Creekwater sounds both played well, too.

Thanks so much for the lovely faces of my local friends who braved the $6 to check us out, but thanks even more to the Atlanta-ians (Scott and Dee Bedell), and even MORE to the CRAZY OHIO-ANS who droved in (friend, Chuck Derringer, and new friend, Ryan + my Mother and step-dad, Linda and Bob Clancy) to see the show. I was honored.

Anyway -- if someone one here wants T-shirts that couldn't make it, email me and we'll work something out. Hopefully we'll be able to put sound-files of a few of the songs on the web-page before long.

i love you all.

amen and Amen,
