The Three Sisters People Humor and the Weird
What is dark without light? Light casts the shadow, and creates dark. But, what is light without dark? Without dark, to what do we compare the light? The dark is there so that we may see how brightly the light shines. If we did not have the dark, light would not be light, it would just be there. Inner darkness is necessary for a person to be whole. No one person is complete without some inner darkness. The inner darkness must be allowed to radiate to others, just as the inner light must also show. Light and dark depend upon one another.
As I always think to myself when I see humanity at its worst: Pity the humans... We all succumb to our human sides at times. I include myself in every statement I ever make about people. Look for the good in people. It is there. If you search for the bad, you will surely find it. I believe those are Abraham Lincoln's words. There IS the capacity for good in people. It must be searched for, though.
There exist three Sisters who control our lives. They shape what we do, who we were, who we are, and who we will become. They are the daughters of Destiny. These three Sisters are Past, Present, and Future. Past shapes what we do in the Present and how we will plan in the Future. Present reflects how Past treats us and Present allows us to prepare for the Future. Future is our ability to plan ahead, our license to Dream. Each Sister depends upon the other, without one, none would exist.
Something I thought of while sitting in my eighth grade English class discussing a story about a man who finds himself trapped in a blizzard with no hope for escape. His character was a harsh and wicked character, but he was the protagonist of the story, which leads us to my idea: We are each the protagonist in our own stories of Life. We may be good, we may be bad, but individually, we see ourselves as always in the right. Rarely do we stop to consider that we may be incorrect, or that our ideas and actions may be harming another person. We see ourselves as always in the right. Would the world benefit if people stopped to consider the repurcussions of their own ways of thinking?
Humor is universal. It appeals to all audiences of all ages. Humor can teach many lessons, and help us poor humans better understand each other. Humor can be used as a weapon against anything, from depression of the individual to oppression of the masses. People should to learn how to use humor to combat the complex problems of the outside world. The weird can be used for the very same theory. When people act very strange, they make others laugh, and when people are laughing, they are not fighting. Humor and oddness are wonderful remedies for hatred.
