Welcome to Toad's page!

Well, it's actually Mole's and Ratty's,
and good Old Badger's too...
But you know toad! He has to have the spotlight!
He'll go to any measure to get it!

Thanks for coming! You're just in time!! Toad is about to reveal his "brilliant" plan! His friends, however, suspect he is up to something that can only lead to trouble. "Toad Triumphant,"© written by William Horwood, is a sequel to Kenneth Grahame's Classic "The Wind in the Willows." This book is beautifully written and captures the wild essence of the adorable toad, the shy timid nature of mole, the strong wise Badger, and the rational rat. Toad has a surprise for all which seems harmless at first, but leads to a string of wild adventures. This book kept me smiling, and made me even burst into laughter when I was reading it in a public lounge. (be careful where you read this one! haha! :) This story is well-crafted and I would definitely nominate it for a literary award! There aren't many books out there that have the power to move a person through such a range of emotions and bring them out smiling! I always feel better after reading a chapter!

I must admit, I had to restrain myself from flipping ahead to look at the gorgeous cross-hatch drawings of Patrick Benson. It was like a reward every time I reached a new picture. I was so excited to see my favorite characters come to life. These drawings truly portray the characters as living creatures who share the same dreams and aspirations as humans. I love this book and it's drawings so much I just have to share it with everyone! People of all ages can enjoy and relate to Toad and his friends.I hope you will go out and get a copy for yourself, children, and friends. "Toad Triumphant" is a keepsake that I will always treasure.
