Have you ever noticed how sales and long lines at registers cause people to come together?

Someone left this lovely note on my guestbook about my entry from February 20 and I just felt the need to address it.

Comments: My but you are so young! I would hope you learned a little more about drinking then you pages indicated. I was hit by a drunk driver...he was laughing and having fun too. To bad he ruined the rest of my life. 10 hospitalizations, $250,000 in medical bills and a wheelchair, just so HE COULD HAVE FUN! I know you are going to delete this entry, so I can SAY ........ "HOW DARE YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY"!! GROW UPDear Sir or Madam,
I am sorry you were hurt in a car accident by some jerk who got in his car drunk. I don't think anyone should get behind the wheel if they are intoxicated. However, I, nor anyone else that was drunk that night, drove the car. This story was meant to be a commemoration of my first time being drunk. (I'm sure you remember the first time you were drunk.) I in no way advocate driving drunk. It saddens me whenever anyone gets hurt in drunk driving incidents, especially when the drunk driver leaves the crash unharmed while the people in the other car get hurt.I got drunk, laughed uncontollably, and puked. It's funny. People laugh when you do silly things and you are more prone to do silly things when you are drunk. I was only making fun of myself. My friends and I didn't hurt anyone. It's not funny when anyone gets hurt, especially in a car accident. I have been in a car accident, so I know how scary and horrible they are. I didn't mention that people shouldn't drink and drive in the morals of my story because I figured that was obvious. I know better and I figured others would too.
To answer you jibe, why yes, I did learn something more "then[sp] my pages indicated," and I will share it with you. I learned that I don't like to be drunk. I learned that being drunk is not that big a deal. I don't understand why anyone would get drunk every weekend, but they do. Perhaps you should preach to those people. I don't understand why anyone would acquire a taste for beer if they don't like in the first place.
My goal was to make this a fun,light-hearted page. It wasn't meant to be preachy. I am not nor was I ever making a joke of drunk driving. Perhaps I wasn't making myself clear when I told the story: We were responsible and we had a designated driver. I know someone hurt you, but understand that it was not my friends and I that hit you. You don't have to read this so I can SAY ......."HOW DARE YOU JUDGE ME WITHOUT KNOWING THE FACTS"!!
