Jesus

Jesus inspired the founding of Christianity. His desciples spread the message of love as opposed to the doctrine of rituals as ordained by the prophets Moses to Abraham to Elija and onwards. The old testament of The Bible- a common book of jews, christians and moslems, did foretell of a saviour's coming.

Between the age of 12 and 25, there is a big gap in the biography of Jesus. There is one school of thought that believes that he went to Tibet to study mysticism. But the presence of a Tomb in Kashmir of Peer Issa and legends around him makes some say that it is the tomp of Jesus.

On his return to Paletine, he claimed to be the son of god. It was a bad time to make such a claim. The roman empire covered palestine and the jews didnot like the idea of a king figure among the hebrews. Jesus was executed on the cross for claiming to be the King of the world.

The 12 desciples of christ claimed that Jesus is the saviour who has come to save the mankind from sin. And from Rome St Paul and from Antioch St Thomas spread the gospel of christianity and laid the foundation stone of church. St Paul is believed to be the first Pope, head of the church. Though, initially, christianity was jews preaching to jews; later gentiles also joined. Thanks to the liberelisation of dietary restrictions and compulsory circumcision, chrisianity took off.
