He is the chief god and king of heaven. He is the son of Dyaus

came to the infant's aid for they all felt, as was indeed the case, that

The human manifestation of Taleju. A kumari
guides the king i n the affairs of the kingdom in lieu of Taleju. A special
council searches for p otential kumaris from the Buddhist Sakya community
of goldsmiths guided by a lis t of 32 attributes like: must have a voice
like running stream, cheeks like lion , etc. After they are shortlisted
then the royal astrologer finds out the one wh o is the most compatible
with the king. Finally the chosen one is made to sit in a dark room full
of 108 slaughtered buffaloes and goats, the floor shining with blood and
each animal's head illuminated by a lamp. The test of a true kumari i s
that she is not scared and does not run. A kumari's tenure can start at
a very young age of 3 and lasts till her first mensuration. After that
a new kumari is selected. in lieu of Taleju.
