"That's too bad," Doris says.  "We didn't have time before, but I was going to give you a quiz and if you passed, make you a Witch."

        Your jaw drops.  "Are you serious?"

        "Not even remotely," she says with a grin.  "Knowing about Witchcraft doesn't make one a Witch.  You have to practice it.  You can read all the books ever printed about horseback riding, but not until you actually get on the horse can you call yourself a rider."

        "Look," you say, "I don't want to ride horses, or broomsticks for that matter.  All I want is a spell which will make Chris fall madly, passionately, has-eyes-for-no-other in love with me. "

        "Why?"

        You blink.  "What do you mean, 'why'?"

        "You need to know the answer if I'm going to teach you about spell-crafting."

        "You are?  Hey, great!" you say.  "So what's the first step?"
