VDO - Live TV on the Internet


This next site has links that will take you to live TV from Germany, France and Mexico. One of the links on the page, Tagesschau,
has a link for downloading the VDO Player. This works with Netscape. If you are using Internet Explorer, sorry, there isn't a DirectX counterpart (well, by the time you read this there may be, but you'll have to look for it.)
After you download the VDO Player, go back to the language lab and check out the Live TV sites.

  • Foreign Languages for Travelers Well worth visiting. Select the language you speak and the language you want to learn from a list of several dozen. You get things like basic words, numbers, money, time and dates. Also has a good links page.

  • Indian Language Site Definitely go to this site if you're interested in Indian languages. You can get fonts here and a shareware package that will allow you to use Indian fonts in your windows apps. It's an evaluation package and registration is $50, when you see it and try it, you'll realize what a bargain it is. The install .exe is about 1.5 Megs.
