My good brother, N Vittal, god rest his soul is dead, perhaps, I am too hasty in writing his eulogy, is marked by the rascals, rogues and ruffians of saffron kind. Imagine, the mother fuckers go about singing glory Hallelujahs at the drop of the hat, claim "zero tolerance" for corruption, make it corruption and terrorism, are threatening N Vittal for opening the Pandora's box, the "Hawala Scandal."
Article 1
So what is new in the land of milk and honey, Mafia and money, Molu Nalapat and Ahmed Diwan? Nothing. Same old, same old, lying, cheating, spin doctoring, hoodwinking, white washing, prevaricating, blurting blasphemy, farting fascism, preaching violence, demolishing this and destroying that, including but not limited to dismantling the constitution of India.
Article 2
That RSS son of a bitch, Venkaiah Naidu dog, has delivered his Zandewalan shit at the door of N Vittal's "CVC" Central Vigilance Commissioner. Why all of a sudden these pious pagans turned sour on N Vittal, there own hero on a white horse?
Article 3 | Article 4
Let me tell you the secret. It is no secret at all. From the prime minister of that time, Congress party's P V Narasimha Rao to regional war lords and bunch of heinous Hindus of no names like lallu the criminal kallu, present day capo of all capos of Mafia, RSS that is, home minister of India, Lal Kishen Advani.
The heat N Vittal is generating is scalding the red faces, white liars faces, saffron simian faces and scared stiff faces of feces fascists all over India. Take a look at the list of bastards who got a clean chit from the court.
L. K. Advani, Home Minister, Mr. Yashwant Sinha, Finance Minister, Mr. Sharad Yadav, JD(U) leader and Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr. Devi Lal, INLD, and many Congress(I) leaders including Mr. Arjun Singh, Mr. Madhav Rao Scindia and Mr. V. C. Shukla.
Article 5
I be damned. Let me take a close look at this good buddy of mine, Monu Nalapat's argument. Monu does some independent thinking, unlike others. I despise him but he is my brother and I shall not deny him the place in the hearts and minds of the mindless ding bats such as our own resident rodent, Ahmed Diwan.
Article 6
Monu bubba is banging Jaswant Singh's ass, isn't he? No uncertain terms are used to describe this Brahma bull, Jaswant Singh. Frankly, Monu is learning the art of communicating. Calling spade, a spade ain't no crime whether yours truly does it with lot of vulgarity or Monu Nalapat does it with white gloves. The truth remains the truth.
Take a look at Keshav Baliram Hedgevar's Italian Connection. Monu Nalapat does selective reading when he farts about Sonia Gandhi's Italian heritage, stage and Congress stables.
Article 7
Here is another look at the con'sinstitution of India, sorry, couldn't give up my poetical flair, the constitution of India. This time former prime minister, Inder Kumar Gujral is banging some saffron assholes for being too naive to fuck up with the constitution.
Article 8
Inder is a suave and cultivated person of some repute. What he says is no different that what Sid said dozens of times that without assigning motives to this saffron salivating thingy, review of the constitution, one carries the impression that saffron simians are setting a trend.
Article 9
They are no trend setting kind of people. The conspire, connive and assassinate people they don't like. This is some new thing for them. To keep their hot seats for long time is what is the motive. People be damned, democracy be damned, public perception be damned and most of all the free speech be damned.
Article 10
Saffron snake are crawling and clawing and tearing the constitution for wrong reasons. They are greasing the way so that the next time they get to the hot seat again they shall weld their lead, maybe, red and lead asses to it so that no one shall keep the power and saffron monkeys' asses asunder, not even the law of the land, much less the silly old thingy called the constitution.

Of Civil Servants and Uncivil Servants
S Sadananda, founder editor of Free Press Journal is my brother and I love him so. I quote his excellent editorials all the time. I wish him well, perhaps, I wish him in a wishing well, down, down at the bottom.
N Vittal is my another brother and he is just doing his job. BJP is scared stiff as N Vittal is baring that monster as in stripping it naked. Somebody has to do it. I predicted that N Vittal must watch his back more than his front. In a criminal society such as India, criminals like other criminals to be nailed down but want to excuse themselves from exposure.
There are half a dozen to dozen major cases when a civil servant was applauded to a point that major figures were not featured in his quest for clean governance. Just as soon as such a person crossed the invisible line the heavens and hell came down upon him. Charges and counter charges, secret meetings between the ministers down to the peons became apparent as person in question had stepped on their favorite watering hole.
Criminals have their own methods of getting rid of unwanted public scrutiny, free publicity and all that good stuff. Politicians may reprimand the erring civil servants getting on their nerves but doing so invites more scrutiny. Therefore, goody two shoes like S Sadananda are courted, cajoled if not cowered to write dispassionate critical pieces.
S Sadananda is a free man and he may find my objections to his lopsided editorial bit harsh. I cannot say bad things that I say to Ahmed Diwan like ding bats to my brother, S Sadananda. That would kill him. Therefore, I am going to be gentle with his arguments against N Vittal's crusade against high place corruption.
So N Vittal erred in two cases that S Sadananda so gleefully points out. What about the rest of the cases? What about the regeneration of public enthusiasm over such matters that they have no privy to find out for themselves.
Everyone is innocent till proven guilty, I was told by my critics when I slapped that Paris diplomat over Lalita Oraon scandal. True, he may be absolutely innocent. If that be the case, why would he not offer himself to the French judge as a private citizen and tell whatever is on his mind and not hide behind the diplomatic immunity?
Being indicted by American Grand Jury does not automatically makes any such individual a criminal. The publicity over such matters is of no concern to the law enforcement authorities. The accused still has right to the full court trial, expert defense and public sympathy if he happens to be a well known figure.
Those whose names appeared on N Vittal's list could all go home and count their ill begotten money under their mattresses or on the other hand count their blessings and be brave about the whole affair. They are not dismissed just because N Vittal gave them a bad grade.
What is S Sadanada's moral problem? Let N Vittal keep silent, not make moves, or be so obedient that his superiors make him a non person? That is not how free speech works, my good buddy, S Sadananda. You ought to know. Minor mistakes are signs that not all ducks are in a row. To that N Vittal most graciously accepted his faults.
Be that as it may, N Vittal's errors and omissions are of essentially those of the bureaucracy that he heads. While blaming N Vittal, S Sadananda fails to exonerate him for being part of the problem. The only fault I find in N Vittal is that he has not hired a good PR man. Perhaps, as a retired journalist, S Sadananda could have given him few good pointers. Andhra Pradesh chief minister has been approached by my good buddy, Alyque Padamsee, a fine man, an honorable man, a poet, a playwright and a smart man with integrity to spare.
I do not know whether Chandra Babu Naidu is going to accept Alyque's offer or not, I think, Alyque's wisdom and savvy could be used by N Vittal. It would do both some good. After all, it is not the crime but the perception of crime which is being discussed by S Sadananda. It is subjective. I see no harm done by little hamming by N Vittal. He does not need it and certainly with major attention being focussed on the real criminals he exposes, N Vittal becomes a bearer of bad news.
S Sadananda is acting childish. He is a public servant, as a journalist one automatically becomes one without the perks of government civil servant. I bet S Sadananda is bit uncivil in his harsh treatment of N Vittal. Criticism helps all but such personal, vindictive pieces add to more mayhem surrounding the project than helps the poor readers whose only recourse is thru some kind of exposure, if not the N Vittal's St. Vitus kind of jazzy dance number.

Rediff dated February 18, 2000.
