Elise

Pink Hearts Pink Hearts

Heart Line

Elise is a very sweet teenage girl. She started going to Art Class and Dance Class since she was a little girl. She has performed in some ballet recitals and has had her artwork displayed in several art shows. Now she plays the alto saxophone and is very busy with marching band practice. She also takes karate. Watch out! She just earned her Brown Belt. She may look like a nice, gentle person, but she might be able to beat you up! hehehe

When Mom and Dad were still dating, they once went to a store that sold music boxes. They liked the song, Für Elise, and thought that if they ever got married and had a baby girl, they would name her Elise. When Joy was born, her personality didn't match the name, but when Elise was born, the name matched her perfectly.

Like everyone else in our family, Elise loves to read. Her bedroom has two entire walls lined with bookshelves. These are some of her favorite books:

The list isn't done yet because every time Elise starts trying to choose her favorite books, she gets too caught up reading them. It's just like an episode of the cartoon, Garfield and Friends, when Orson the Pig couldn't put all his books on the shelf because every time he started cleaning up, he ended up reading his books instead of putting them away.

Henrietta

Elise's favorite pet was Henrietta the chicken. Several years ago Joy's science class raised some chicks out of eggs, and when the project was over, Joy got to bring one of the chicks home. Even though it started out as Joy's pet, Elise fell in love with it, so it ended up being Elise's chicken.

Elise took very good care of her chicken. Henrietta grew from a soft, yellow, downy chick to a very large white hen. We think she was destined to be a huli-huli (barbeque) chicken because she grew up to be quite plump, but never laid any eggs.

Henrietta lived a long, happy life, but eventually she died. Elise was very sad, and she still misses Henrietta a lot. Elise still thinks about her chicken all the time. She once wrote a story about some chickens that won a contest and got published in our local newspaper. The prize was perfect for Elise, a gift certificate for Border's Books.
