Greenwood, Leigh - LOVE ON THE RUN  (Zebra Bouquet - 3/00) (4)
Claire Dalton is desperate to stay out of jail, and there's only one person who can help her: ace private investigator, Eric Sterling. Claire is very proud of her status as top executive of a banking firm, but when she's accused of stealing top-secret information, her world quickly shatters. She must prove her innocence, but first she must persuade Eric to take her case. That won't be easy because he thinks she's guilty, too.

Eric Sterling has built his career on helping women in distress, but he's ready to retire from the P.I. business. He's had enough of women using him to get money from their ex-husbands. He's sure Claire Dalton is no better than the rest of them, except she is guilty of a crime—and he has no intention of helping a criminal escape a prison cell!  When Eric sees someone try to kill Claire, however, he realizes there's more here than meets the eye. Against his better judgment, he agrees to help her.

Claire and Eric begin an exciting, suspenseful drama that quickly turns into a sizzling love story. Leigh Greenwood will keep you on the edge of your seat as he brings this compelling page-turner to life. Greenwood, Leigh - MARRIED BY HIGH NOON  (SSE 1295 - 1/00) (4)
Dana Marsh can't believe that anyone as young, vital, and healthy as her best friend Mattie could be dead. The two of them had been as close as sisters, and now Dana has joint custody of Mattie's two-year-old son, Danny. She dearly loves the child and is determined to make sure he doesn't fall into the wrong hands...

Dana hasn't visited Iron Springs, Virginia in almost fourteen years. After her heart was broken, she vowed never to set foot in that town again. But now she has returned to discuss Danny's future with his uncle Gabe, who also has custody. Everyone expects her to just leave the child with Mattie's brother and pretend the last couple of years never existed, but Dana has already lost her best friend and she can't bear the thought of losing Danny, too.

Gabe Parvis buried his emotions when he buried his sister and father, and now he faces the threat of losing his nephew to the man who deserted Mattie during her pregnancy. As soon as Gabe sees Danny, he feels a tug on his heart and vows to do everything possible to keep the child. The only solution—if he and Dana hope to retain custody—is to be MARRIED BY HIGH NOON. Even though they try to deny their feelings at first, Gabe and Dana undoubtedly have a chemistry that can't be ignored.

Leigh Greenwood has written a touching story that features well-defined characters, sizzling tension, and unwavering sensitivity. If you want a romance that warms the heart and makes you feel as if you've come home again, then don't miss MARRIED BY HIGH NOON. ~Paula Palmer for Bookbug on the Web

Greenwood, Leigh - THE COWBOYS: DREW  (Leisure - 5/00) (4)
Cole Benton, undercover agent for the US Government, is on the trail of a gang of robbers led by an attractive female, whom Cole suspects is Drew Townsend. Drew, a crack shot as well as the star attraction of the Wild West Show, fits the description of the female outlaw to a tee. In order to keep an eye on his suspect and gather enough evidence to arrest her and the gang members, Cole hires on as a performer in the show.

Drew certainly appears to be just another Wild West showgirl, but her strange menagerie of brothers lends credence to the possibility that they're her partners in crime. While a robbery is committed in each town that hosts the show, Cole finds himself spending more and more time with Drew in an effort to corner her. But this time spent together has the opposite effect on him, and Cole finds himself looking for reasons not to search for proof of her guilt. He's falling in love with Drew, and his role as a lawman is interfering with his desire to act on his feelings for her.

Unaware that she is the target of a criminal investigation, Drew is enjoying Cole's company—doubly pleased that he, unlike other men, accepts her way of life. While she has spent most of her days in the company of men, the feelings she is now experiencing for Cole are different...and unsettling. However, considering all the evidence that is mounting against Drew, and the possibility of her arrest, what chance does their love have?

In THE COWBOYS: DREW, Leigh Greenwood takes readers on a wonderful journey to the traveling Wild West Shows of the late 1800s. Traditionally, most "cowboy romances" set in this era have western locales, but Drew's story takes place primarily in the Midwest, a change that adds to the colorful background of this book. Leigh Greenwood has created a romance between Cole and Drew that is not a sexually smoldering, tension-filled affair; rather, their relationship builds to a satisfying conclusion based on deep abiding love and understanding. ~Olivia Holton for Bookbug on the Web

Greenwood, Leigh - THE COWBOYS: SEAN  (Leisure - 1999) (5)
Sean O'Ryan is a force to be reckoned with and his strong Irish character makes him the perfect hero. Even though he was orphaned as a child and turned away by his aunt when she chose to become a dancer and singer, he found good fortune when adopted by Jake and Isabell. Now as a grown man, he is determined to find enough gold in the fields of Colorado to buy himself a ranch, and also find the perfect wife. But Pearl Belladonna can't be that woman. She owns a saloon and flaunts herself in front of rowdy men every night for money.

Okay, so she is the most beautiful thing he's ever seen with her flaming red hair (from a bottle) and her low-cut dresses. She's a loose woman...and definitely not his type. But in spite of his good intentions, his heart has other plans. Pearl has a heart of gold more valuable than any he can find in the fields. Throw in a charming, crooked gambler named Rock, along with a few gunshots, and you have a story!  After all the lies, robbery and deceit, Sean doesn't know if he can ever forgive Pearl, but his love is tested to the limit when she is arrested and he learns that her daughter has been kidnapped. But like any perfect hero, Sean comes to the rescue and saves the day. This book is filled with passion, fun, and the purest kind of unconditional love—a must read for all Greenwood fans.

Leigh Greenwood has a knack for opening up great big cans of worms and then gathering them all back up into a nice neat package. Sean is testimony to how well the author can tell a story and never leave a stone unturned. Like every single Randolph (from the Seven Brides series) and like each orphan Jake and Isabell took in, Sean and Pearl are priceless. No matter how minor the character, Leigh Greenwood breathes life into them and makes them unforgettable. A truly gifted talent like this should be praised and I offer mine. Mr. Greenwood can tell a story like no other, and thank goodness he has mastered the art of series. Once you've read one of his books with its flawless precision, you won't ever want it to end. I promise!  ~Karen W. (txpromo@aol.com)
