This is a page that will try to answer questions and give information regarding the Sacraments of initiation for Children who wish to be Roman Catholic My name is Joan. I am one of the Directors of Elementary Religious Education for the Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens in New York .I currently chair the Children's Catechumenate Committee.

It is my hope that through the message board and e-mail interested parents, catechists and religious education administrators can share questions,concerns and resources. I will try to provide all of this in updated pages.

Some of the current questions have to do with the time frame of the Children's catechumenate.

At least a three year time frame is suggested.Many are confused when they learn that these children are Baptized,Confirmed and receive Holy Eucharist at the same time. Still another concern is appropriate materials.I have included an entire page of resources and a full page of appropriate links.

It is important to understand the RCIA before trying to adapt for children.
