The USS Abraham Lincoln which carries the hull number CVN-72 a member of the "Nimitz Class" of aircraft carriers; these are the most powerful ships of war ever built by mankind. She has several "sister ships". Here are links to them:

USS Nimitz (CVN-68)

USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69)

USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70)

USS George Washington (CVN-73)

USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74)

The web site for USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) is undergoing major reconstruction. The next two carriers in the Nimitz Class are: USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75), and USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) . They have yet to be commissioned.

I finally made Second Class, and put it on 18 December, 1997. This made my decision as to whether to stay in or get out of the Navy a little more difficult!

I finally decided to get out. Although I love the Navy and would have liked a career, the separation from the kids was just too much.

I haven't completely severed my ties with the Navy though. I joined a Naval Reserve unit here in town where I'm training to be a heavy equipment operator.

I've got a couple of fantastic pictures of the Abraham Lincoln I invite you to see. To view them, click on the bars below.

Here's a picture of my two wonderful kids, Daniel, and Megan.

When I was stationed at Alameda NAS my dad visited me, and we toured the SS Pampanito which is anchored in San Francisco Bay. You can pay a "cyber-visit" to this old and fascinating sub by clicking on the submariners badge below.

The USS Salem has assembled a vast amount of information on Naval History (probably more than you care to know!). To see this fine site, click on their "Sea Witch" logo below.

I've set up another web page which reflects some of my civilian interests. To go there, click on the bar below.

I have two fantastic kids! To go to either of their pages, click on the bar(s) below.

The Army and Air Force Exchange Service used to be the largest retailer in the world. Now it's surpassed only by Walmart. They still have lots of bargains.

The Navy equivalent is the Navy Exchange Service. It's not nearly as good, but still isn't bad.

One thing that all the uniformed services have in common is the Defense Commissary Agency. There are some bargains to be had here. Compare the prices with those on the civilian economy, and you'll realize what a benefit this is.
