Pre-Columbian Transocean Cultural Diffusion
The
belief that Christopher Columbus was actually the first person to discover the America's
has been debated since 1492 in spite of considerable evidence to the contrary.
'Official academia' are highly reluctant to open their eyes to the probability that there
were many voyages between the Old World and the Americas long before Columbus.
Many artifacts, explorer accounts, technologies, ruins, languages and genetics have been documented that show direct pre-Columbian Old World/New World contact. These demonstrate influences between China, Egypt, Africa, the Vikings, Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Northern Europeans and on and on.
- Why has this evidence been dismissed by establishment, archaeologists and historians? Are they unwilling to modify the centuries old premise of Columbus first, in spite of significant evidence to the contrary?
- How much influence went from the America's to the Old World?
- What is the response to one of the major complaints of Native American historians that cultural diffusion questions their ancestors remarkable capabilities?
- Was Columbus such a lucky devil to unknowingly find the only practical route of prevailing winds to and from the Caribbean islands so accurately within an ocean as vast as the Atlantic?
When there is a honest professional acceptance and study of diffusion evidence we will have the ability to solve the questions above. I see this already starting to happen. I would like to use this website as a forum to discuss this perspective of history, called Cultural Diffusionism.
Look under the web page ARTIFACT QUIZ to see a few intriguing artifacts of Old World/New World origins to open your thoughts. Also visit OTHER SITES to delve into this vast subject including some modern pioneers who have continued their diffusion studies under much criticism.
