20 Zophar defends his own holiness (by trashing Job's?)

Zophar speaks:

I must speak for Job's words have greatly distressed me.
He has rebuked me and dishonored me.
My understanding inspires me to reply.

Surely you know this is the way it always has been.
The joy of the sinner is brief.
His pride may reach to the heavens.

But he will perish forever like his own waste.
People will wonder what ever happened to him.
Likek a dream fades into nothing, so shall he be.

His children will end up having to pay back the poor for his own sins.
He will give back his ill gotten wealth.
He will grow weak and die.

Evil tastes sweet to him but it turns sour in hi stomach.
Even when it poisons him, he continues to eat of it.
He will vomit his riches back up.
He will die from the snake venom he consumes.

He will not live in peace and joy.
What he worked for will be forfeited.

Because he oppressed the poor and left them penniless.
Because he stole their houses from them.

His hunger will not be satisfied.
God will take everything away from him.
He will lose his wealth.

Even while he is wealthy, distress will overtake him!
Absolute misery will destroy him.
Even when he eats his fill, God will punish him.
Though he runs away, God's weapons will pierce him.
Fear will rule over him.

Darkness waits for him.
Fire will consume him.
The heavens will prove him to be guilty!
A flood will destroy his house!

These the the things that happen to wicked people!
This is the way that God does things!
