Rules & Conditions for Joining DB! Ring

General

Any Dawoodi Bohra related page is eligible to join the ring. All member pages should carry a fragment of HTML DB! Code in the registered page. Once you register your page for membership, the required DB! HTML Code to insert into the page will be provided to you. You will be kept in the DB! Queue untill the code is pasted into your page.

***IMPORTANT!***

Site content will be strictly and periodically reviewed. If the site contains any material and/or links which is against or harmful to the Dawoodi Bohra community on the whole, the site will not be included in the ring. If such a site is found to be a part of the ring, it will be immediately removed from the ring. No type of harmful content and/or links will be tolerated. On any decision regarding the Dawoodi Bohra ring, the decision made by the webmaster will be final and binding to all queue and ring members.

DB! Code (See Sample Palette): Rules

(1.a) The code should be inserted to the best page in your site. The best page is usually the page with links to all your subpage, your guestbook e-mail, etc. This page should have an identity of its own and should not be the subpage of some main page. The DB! ring will send visitors to the page you have pasted the code. So it is very important for us to have the codes in the best pages in your site.
(1.b) Further, the code should not be pasted in an entry page. Entry page is a page that shows a link called "Enter" or a graphic "Click Here" or simply a door page to the actual site with few link/content in it.

(2)Code should not be pasted in a page specailly for webrings with other ring codes cluttered into one page. Such a placement will only absorb traffic and does not really contribute traffic to DB! Ring.

(3) If you are going to paste the code in your index/main page, and you have other webring codes pasted in that page, then the DB! Ring code should be clearly visible.

(4) As far as possible sites should not paste their codes at the bottom of a very long page. Rather, you can paste the code to the top of the page or in the middle.

(5) Also please see to it that codes are not pasted at nearly empty pages with very few links or no content,

(6)Additionally, sites should not be difficult to read or access by members due to large graphics and heavy file size,

(7) Sites designed with animation or complex background obstructing the visibility of the palette will not be allowed.

(8) You should not tamper, modify or alter the code. The code should be pasted as it is. Violation of this will ensure that your submission will be rejected. Don't modify the code except in the case where the palette infornation is incorrect!!! If necessary to modify, and get his concurrence. We use a program to check for the presence of the code. If you modify the code, the program will produce a report that the code is absent in your page and subsequently your page may be purged automatically. Hence please note that even a missing/added character in the code can create problems. If you need to modify, write to us before doing so!

(9) Sites may be removed from the queue if the code is not inserted within few days.

(10) FRAME PAGES: You should register your frame set and the code should be visible without any click of a link by the user once he arrive at your site. If the code is in an inside page, requiring the user to click a link to access the code, then only that html page which contain the code (code page) only be registerd. Webmaster will modify the site address accordingly in the ring Database. In this case, please note that webring will send visitors directly to the code page itself. The quality of the code page and not the entire site, will be the criteria for allowing such sites in the ring.

(11) If you want to register multiple sites, you can do so. However, you have to register each site at the homepage and get the code for each page. Please note that code is page specific. The code for one page can not be used for another page as the ID is different for each page. Get code for each page seperately by registering each page. But again, each of the registerd page should have content of its own.

(12) You should not register same page more than once and should not insert two DB! ring palette with two different ID in the same page as it may create a loop.

(13) Sites with improper/unpleasent themes will be rejected.

(14) Your page will not be accepted in certan cases based on the absolute discretion of the webmaster and the site may be rejectd without giving any reason. On any decision regarding the Dawoodi Bohra ring, the decision made by the webmaster will be final and binding to all queue and ring members.

All these rules will ensure that surfing through this ring will be efficient, easy, quick, and less complex, and fun! Please co-operate. Lets make this ring benificial to all the members equally.
