20 ways to Help Prevent Cancer

Forget gene therapy says Dr Vernon Coleman. Here are 20 tips that he believes will cut your risk of getting Cancer by 80 per cent.....
 
  1. Eat foods which will boost your immune system - plenty of fruit, vegetables and seeds. The best anti-cancer foods include: apples, baked beans, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, chick peas, kidney beans, lentils, onions, oranges, spinach and strawberries.

  2. Keep your fat consumption down. Avoid dairy products.

  3. Do not eat meat. Red meat seems especially dangerous.

  4. Prepare food carefully to preserve the vitamin and mineral content.

  5. Buy organic food and cut down on food additives.

  6. Don't drink unfiltered tap water.

  7. Take a supplement rich in antioxidants.

  8. Learn how to relax your body and mind. Avoid unnecessary stress.

  9. Watch out for the early warning signs of cancer - unusual lumps, fresh bleeding, weight change. If worried, seek help straight away.

  10. Don't take drugs you don't really need. Try to keep away from hospitals, doctors' clinics and other places where sick people congregate to cut the risk of new infections.

  11. Avoid buildings with closed-circuit air conditioning or heating.

  12. Avoid air travel. Airlines tend to recirculate dirty air.

  13. Don't live within 150 yards of a power line or electricity sub-station and don't sit too near TV's or computers. Switch off electric blankets before bedtime.

  14. Use mobile phones only in emergencies.

  15. Don't cook with a microwave oven.

  16. Don't have unnecessary X-rays.

  17. Watch your weight.

  18. Don't smoke and avoid people that do.

  19. Beware of sunshine. Too much can cause skin cancer.

  20. Drink alcohol sparingly.
Well, there's the list and whilst most is logical, the fact Dr Vernon is vegetarian stands out a mile. I would take the meat eating advice with a pinch of salt as it's the spouting that is common to ALL vegetarians who desire to dictate that everyone should eat as they do. I just wish that they would keep their idiosyncratic dietry beliefs to themselves and let the rest of us eat the way we desire, unhealthily or not. If we were meant to be vegetarians, ALL our teeth would be molars and incisors would not exist in our mouths.
