Harnessing the Earth's Rivers

One of the world's earliest major dams was built across the Garawi valley in Egypt about 3000 BC. Used to regulate flood waters, it was some 106 m (350 ft) long and was made of packed earth with masonry walls. Egypt is also the home of one of world's finest modern dams - the Aswan High Dam, 114 m (375 ft) high and 4 km (2.5 miles) long. The world's largest concrete dam and largest concrete structure (pre 2000, waiting information about Three Gorges, China, which I gather is almost 3 times the size.) is the Grand Coulee on the Columbia river in Washington State, USA. It contains some 8,092,000 metres³ (10,585,000 yards³) of concrete.

Now I revert to the pleading again. As you can see, much of the information on the lesser dams is missing. Anyone that can help with any of the missing details please e-mail the info. Thanks in anticipation.
