What to heed with Dating Agencies.
Tracking down Mr Right has always been a challenge but our busy lives mean it is now tougher than ever. There are so many demands on our time we rarely get the chance to trawl pubs and clubs in search of the perfect partner. But some women have discovered a fast-track route to romance - dating agencies.
Research shows that one in five women are turning to dating agencies to start a relationship. And the number is set to double over the next five years. Agencies have lost their image as a last resort for desperate losers in love and now more than two million people use Britains 700 dating firms.

SAFETY TIPS
  1. Pick an agency that is registered with the Association of British Introduction Agencies, who have a strict code of practice. (America should have an equivalent association).

  2. Avoid agencies that use a PO Box number or premium rate phone numbers.

  3. Don't rush - ask questions and compare prices to find the right agency for you.

  4. For the UK: when you are calling a contact number always dial 141 first to keep your confidentiality. Other countries may have a similar service. If so, use it.

  5. Always meet in a public place and tell someone where you are going. Make your own way home.

  6. Always arrange to meet during daylight. If this is not possible, be sure it's a very well lit area.

  7. Don't be afraid to say no if the meeting has not turned out the way you had hoped.

  8. Never reveal personal information like your address or phone number until you are certain it is safe.
