Top 10 Bach Flower Remedies
 
    Flowers can bring you peace! The hippies seemingly had the right idea, as had the late Edwardians. In 1930 a Dr Edward Bach created 38 original cures (essences), used them on his patients to treat several negative states of mind. There are now hundreds of different flower remedies (made from the petals), with many different brands available in the shops these days.
    To find out which remedy you need, simply check how you are feeling and check the following list (when you buy your first essence you will find a comprehensive list of even more than those listed here).
 
  1. OLIVE. If you feel exhausted and are on the verge of tears, this will re-energise you and restore a flagging interest in life.

  2. WHITE CHESTNUT. For those plagued with constant worrying thoughts, this will give you peace of mind.

  3. LARCH. For anyone who feels they're not as good as everyone else. This remedy will improve your confidence and self-esteem.

  4. MIMULUS. If you have phobias, this will give you the courage to face and get past your fears.

  5. WALNUT. To help you if you're struggling to cope with major life changes, especially pregnancy, divorce, a new job or moving house.

  6. CRAB APPLE. Take this if you hate yourself and have become obsessive about hygiene and cleanliness.

  7. STAR OF BETHLEHEM. A key player in the Rescue Remedy combination, take this if you have had an accident, shock or bad news.

  8. IMPATIENS. (Busy Lizzie) The remedy for anyone who is feeling irritable and impatient with themselves and others.

  9. ROCK ROSE. This will calm fears when you are terrified, especially of illness or the threat of an accident.

  10. HOLLY. If You find it hard to love and trust others, take holly. It will help you open your heart and share your love and life.
 
    I have it on good authority that these flower remedies are completely safe and can be taken with other medication and not have any adverse side-effects.
    You can take the essence by putting two to three drops on to your toungue, four to six times a day for up to six weeks. As the essence contains alcohol and you do not want to taste it, you can drop the essences onto your wrists instead of your tongue.
