Gamma globulin (immune serum globulin) |
One injection just prior to departure. Gives three to four months partial protection against infectious hepatitis | Countries outside north-western Europe and Australasia where sanitation is of a low standard. |
| Poliomyelitis | Three doses of oral vaccine at four- to six-week intervals. Valid for five years. | All countries. |
| Tetanus | Three injections: the second, one month after the first; the third, six months later.Valid for five years, and often combined with the typhoid immunisation. | All countries. |
| Typhoid | Two injections one or two weeks apart. Gives up to two years partial protection. | All countries except north-western Europe. |
