Princess Anne
The young lady pictured on your left is Princess Anne, an Au Pair from Germany. She was an Au Pair for my one GrandSon, JimJr JrJr (aka James W. IV), his younger sister (Gabrielle) and for my (then) youngest Grandchild, Chandler during the year 2001.
Princess Anne, the only Au Pair who agreed to pose for a photo in her "Court" dress, is from the Hohenstaufen, a noble German family, whose members were rulers of the Holy Roman Empire as well as Kings of both Germany and Sicily.
I asked the Princess to take some time and review my Joke Web Site while she was here.I realize that our cultures are different, and granted, the 1950's were a time when "sexism" and "macho-ism" ran rampart in the US.
After several weeks she sent me this photo as her only comment.
After a year as an Au Pair, Priness Anne returned to her native Germany and was studying at a University there.
She came back to the US for a summer vacation this year (2002) and has since returned to Germany to resume her studies.
She's shown here, posing in her temporary Throne Room, with my son's newest daughter, Mallory.
