DAVE WANG (HELLO) (EEG) (DEC00)
|
Dave Wang (or Wang Jie) has
released his brand new Cantonese album. As
usual, his fans can expect to hear the sorrowful music side of
Dave the wanderer. The title track cum first single
"Hello" is the Cantonese cover of Virgin Music's
newbie Craig
Huo Jing Lun's debut hit of the same name. The
follow-up single "If Don't Want People To Know" is
another Dave-style and easy-listening ballad. The
CD album comes bundled with a bonus VCD containing the music
video of "Hello" and a bunch of discount vouchers
which are only valid for use in Hong Kong.

ANDY LAU (BLUE IS THE COLOUR
OF MY HEART) (BMG) (DEC00)
|
In conjunction with the
release of his 100th movie "A
Fighter's Blues" (or Ah Hu) (a Thai boxing flick), Heavenly King Andy Lau (or Liu
De Hua) has come out with his brand new Cantonese album. The
first single ballad "When I Met You" is the main
theme-song for "A Fighter's Blues", with lyrics
written by Andy himself. The movie's supporting theme-song
"Smile" (another slow ballad) is included too.
The title track "Blue Is The Colour Of My Heart" is a
mid-tempo Mexican-style track. Andy also sang the main
theme-song "Deficient Beauty" for the TVB serial
"Beautiful Life" starring Lin Jia Dong. Fans
of Andy should take note of the following before buying his
latest offering. The first batch of his limited-edition
album comes in the whopping big 11" x 11" size package
and contains ten of his new tracks. The
second-edition album CD reverts back to the normal size, but it
comes bundled with the full sound-track album CD of his movie
"A Fighter's Blues". So take your pick, guys.

LEON LAI (CLUB SANDWICH) (SONY
MUSIC) (DEC00)
|
Heavenly King Leon Lai (or Li
Ming) has released a new song + collection two-CD album. Containing
a whopping thirty-two tracks, the album has four brand new
tracks : "Listen To The Body Sing" and "Go On And
Love" are two techno dance numbers composed and produced by
long-time music collaborator Mark Lui; "Dreams Come
True" is a Mandarin dance track; and "Love Is More
Important Than Me" is a cover of a Korean ballad, with
lyrics written by Lin Xi. The
remaining twenty-eight tracks are made up of twenty-four
collection songs and four instrumental pieces. Many of
Leon's past hits (during his time with Sony Music) can be found
here, such as "Sugar In The Marmalade",
"Prima-Donna", "Visual Trip" (or Yan Jing
Xiang Lu Xing), "Happy 2000", "I Love You This
Much" (or Wo Zhe Yang Ai Ni), "If I Can See You
Again" (or Ru Guo Ke Yi Zai Jian Ni), "From Now
On" (or Cong Jin Kai Shi) and "Belongs To Me" (or
Fei Wo Mo Shu). The
album comes with six calendar cards, each showing different
facial expressions of Leon. However I believe his fans
will be disappointed to learn that the calendar starts from
December 2000 and stops miserably at June 2001.
