Space Weather

We live on a little planet in orbit around an average star. How is Earth affected by that star? How does the Sun affect our atmosphere, communications, health, satellites, economy? What do we need to know about the Sun's activity inorder to be prepared for what it may send our way? How do humans investigate the Sun's activity?

In this exercise, please work in groups of two to investigate the links below. Divide the class so that each link is assigned to a different group. Explore the information at that site and in links from that site keeping in mind the general questions above. Write 5 detailed questions that relate to the general questions above. These detailed questions should relate directly to what it says or shows on your website.
