Enigma: Where is the missing dollar?

Story: These 3 guys walk into a hotel. They pay 10 dollars a piece for their room which cost $30. After the 3 guys get to their room, the manager realizes that he over charged them $5 so he sends the bell-hop up with the extra 5 bucks to repay them. On his way, the bellhop decides that he will give a dollar each to the men and keep $2 as a tip since 5 is not divisible by 3.

Here's the real problem: Since each guy got $1 back, each only paid $9 for the room a piece - $27 all together. Then you add the $2 the bellhop kept and you get $29 bucks!
