Baby control Enigma
What we know:
Tootlkudlykapf, the dictator of the Eastern European country of Tootonia,
really liked women. So, he passed a law that said that all couples must keep
having children until they have a boy, then they must never have another
child.
Enigma: How much will this affect the population of the new borns? Will there be more of one sex?
Solution: There is a 50% chance of waving around a banner saying "It's a boy!" and
there's a 50% chance of that banner saying "It's a girl!" Let's assume that
there are 9 couples. Half of these would stop having kids after the first round of babies comes
along, then another half of the remaining then half of that, and so on.
This means that half of them will be having a girl and half be having a boy each time!
