Personal Comment: This is my 50th Enigma, I thought I would bother Dan by talking about scabs.
Substitute Enigma
What we know:
The city school teachers are on strike.
The school administration hired some substitutes to fill in for the striking teachers.
All the subs are creditted $200 for each day they work and their credit is deducted $300 for each day that they don't work (even the weekends which they have the option of calculating grades). At the end of each month, they are paid the amount of their credit.
At the end of one 30 day month, one substitute, named DiFrancesco, had a total credit of ZERO and thus he was paid nothing.
He missed so much because he was intimidated by picketers with umbrellas.
Enigma: How many days did DiFrancesco work?
Solution: He worked 18 days that month.
Tha means he missed 12 days.
18 * $200 = 12 * $300
See who got this right
