• rate of change of position
• describes how fast the object is moving

  Instantaneous Speed

  • describes the speed at any given instant

  constant speed

  • speed that does not change

  average speed

  • total distance divided by total time
  • can be calculated by equation
    
    v = d/t
    v = speed, d = distance, t = time

• On a distance-time graph, the slope of the line between any two points is the average speed of that interval
