The Gift of Friends

You know, someone once told me that friends were God's way of smiling down on us. Well, with the friends I have that is certainly true. They are there when you need someone to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, or when you need someone to laugh at your mistakes and make them seem not so big. It's amazing how big of a part they play in our everyday lives, sometimes you don't take the time to realize it. Sometimes they are only in our lives for a short period of time, but other times they are a part of our lives forever. Sometimes it's hard not to take them for granted. We are all guilty of that. I never realized what good of friends I had until I went through some rough times. But they all showed me so much, it was impossible to take them for granted. So sit back, and think of your friends and what a big part they have played in your life. You'll be surprised to find that you do indeed have a great number of friends, maybe even some Special Friends.

Below are some of my friends and what they have done for me. They are in no particular order.

Missie "Bcnyall" Mohr

Missie is a special gal. She has been there whenever I needed, no questions asked. Missie, along with her husband Bry and sons Matt and Nick are a very special family. Everyone should have friends like these. They recently moved back to their own home in Delaware after a brief military caused separation. I'm so glad that the military finally got things straight and let them get back together where they belong. Love ya Sis!

Jennifer "Officer Friendly" Parker

Sometimes I wonder if God knew what He was doing when He introduced us. Did He realize that His way of smiling down on me was going to get me into so much trouble? Ha Ha. Jen is a great lady to spend time with, to talk about problems with, and share those little secrets and desires. She first introduced me to one of the best forms of relaxing that I have found in years. A nice walk on the beach discussing things. Although we spend way too much time discussing what problems there are in my Department, we always have a great time. She has seen my bad side as well and is still my friend, so that has to count for something! Dang that Bravo Two One and Bravo Two Three!

George "Intimidator" and Michele "Mamma" Malosky

You would NOT believe that an "old" married couple like these two could be so much fun! Always there with an open ear, an open mind, and an open heart. Mamma always has sound Italian advice to give. And the Intimidator is always ready to back you up in your time of need. As the folk in the South would say, "They are good peoples!". If you are ever in their neck of the woods, do NOT knock Terry Labonte and don't EVER bring ANYTHING with the number 24 on it into their house! You will not survive. I'm feeling CRAAAAAAPPY!

Mike "Army" Armstrong

Here's a guy who is good enough to tell you when you're right............and wrong. I'm surprised that Army doesn't have ears the size of Prince Charles as much as he listens. What more can I say about this guy? He may seem kinda plain on the outside, but there's so much depth to this man it ain't funny. Whether giving advice or asking for some, you know you can trust him. Fester, can you come take some pictures of my truck?

Mark "Marcus Welby" and Carol "The Destroyer" Shreaves

Like I've said before, these are good peoples! I cannot begin to list what they've done for me, nor would I put them through that. But I will say this, these two folks have become known as my transplant family. They look after the people that they care for, and they do a pretty bang up job of it. I wouldn't trade them in on anything in the world. Hey Mark? Is it a bad thing when a car makes this sound?

Catrina "Cat" Asbury

A sweet gal, with a stubborn streak like you wouldn't believe. It even puts ME to shame:-P~~~~~ Cat is a great person to talk to, because she actually listens. And she always has great advice. And like her nickname, she LOVES cats. Well, I guess no one is perfect;-) Fester, I'm gonna kick your butt for that one!
