The Association of Iranian Political Prisoners supports 2000 political prisoners who have gone on hungerstrike in 23 prisons in Turkey in protest to the dreadfull situation of the prisons.

The fascist government of Turkey, which is not less cruel than the Islamic Republic of Iran, has the support of the European and American Governments for killing the freedom loving people and to supress the hard-working people of Turkey. The Turkish Government has imprisoned thousands of it's opponents in a inhuman and medieval condition in prisons, attacks the kurdish people and destructs their cities, villages and residental areas and forces tens of thousands of innocent people to flee from their own houses.

We draw the attention of international public opionion toward the critical condition of the political prisoners who have gone on hungerstrike in the prisons of the Turkish Government as the cause of death of three political prisoners who have died recently on the basis of hungerstrike. We call on all freedom loving people, progressive forces and organizations the local and international human rights organizations to put pressure on the Turkish Government in order to improve the condition of the political prisoners, to stop the execution and torture of the political prisoners and to release all the prisoners of conscience

(Maintainers note:The hungerstrike is over, the prsioners won and got all their demands through. However it costed the lives of over ten prisoners. They will always be remembered as martyrs of all progressive-minded movements)
