Mr. Salim Saber Nia and Mr.Seyed Mostafa Ghaderi, members of the Communist Party of Iran who have been subjected to severe torture in different prisons of the Iranian Regime in Tabriz and Orumeyeh for 7 years and Mr.Kazem Mirzaei, an active member of the Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran who was held in Orumeyeh prison, have been executed by the Iranian Regime on March 31 and June 19, 1996 respectively.
The Islamic Republic of Iran executed Mr.Ahmad Bakhtari, an active member of the Organization of Iranian People's Fedaii Guerillas(Minority) who has been sentenced once to 10 years prison in 1987. In Evin prison on June 22, 1996 along with two other political prisoners. Mr. A. Bakhtari was tried(in court) again and sentenced to death penalty on the basis of a groundless excuse in June 1995.
38 political prisoners are about to be executed by the Iranian Regime. The Association has earlier released their names in a letter to the Amnesty International in Stockholm.
The Association of Iranian Political Prisoners calls on the international public opinion, local and international human rights organizations and all progressive forces and organizations to condemn the executions in Iran and to put pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran to commute all pending death sentences and release all the prisoners of conscience.
