Ribbon Page

Info about ribbons:

Ribbons are right now used by several groups and campaigns, both on the web and in the real world. To reduce confusion over what some of these ribbons stand for, I've made a little summary:

Black Ribbon:Used by online-anarchist groups, as an anarchist alternative to the Blue Ribbon.

Blue Ribbon:Symbol for EFF's(Electronic Frontier Foundation) free-speech online campaign. All active netsurfers are familiar with this symbol.

Green Ribbon:Symbol for supporting the irish republican prisoners. Used by the Saoirse campaign. The green ribbon is also the symbol for the campaign to free prisoners of enviromental conscience.

Orange Ribbon:Used by the Anti-Microsoft campaign.

Red Ribbon:Symbol for supporting people with HIV/AIDS.

White Ribbon:Symbol for supporting peace in Northern Ireland. Also used by white nationalists(fascist) for showing the pride of the white people.

Violet Ribbon:Supporting lesbian rights.

Yellow Ribbon:Was used in a short swedish campaign for the release of swedish prisoners in Iraqi prisons shortly after the Gulf-war. The campaign was iniated by the swedish TV channel TV4.
